Unplayable on iPad

I have the white stripe that others have reported, but that seems to be the least of my problems. I cannot complete my first task because I cannot open the menu. If I do get a sub-screen open by tapping a building, I cannot ever get it closed again, and I have to restart the app. I can make exactly 0 progress. Save your money.
